Data Usage and Retention Policies for AI

Data Sharing & Permissions

When you activate Louis AI, you grant ViaSay permission to share two types of information with AI service partners:

• Embedding services (for content embedding/vectorization)
• Generative AI services (for response generation)

This means that both your Knowledge Base content and chat transcripts may transit to these services.

Tips

Content from your Knowledge Base is often public (e.g., your website). If you plan to import highly sensitive or confidential material, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to discuss additional security measures and best practices.

Sovereignty & Flexibility

ViaSay is fully sovereign and provider-agnostic. Choose the AI model that best fits your needs:

• Mistral AI (🇫🇷)

• Azure OpenAI / Microsoft (🇺🇸)

  • Our Azure instances can be deployed in France (or elsewhere in the EU) to meet your data-sovereignty requirements.

• ChatGPT / OpenAI (🇺🇸)

• Claude / Anthropic (🇺🇸)

• Gemini / Google (🇺🇸)

• Any Hugging Face model (🌍)

• ViaGPT / ViaDialog (🇫🇷) – ViaSay’s own, fully managed French-hosted model

Or bring your own: simply tell us which model you prefer, and we’ll handle the integration.

Default Configuration

Based on ViaSay’s own benchmark tests (January 2025), we’ve selected Microsoft Azure OpenAI (EU/FR) as the out-of-the-box default because it consistently delivers the best balance of:

Performance & Latency
Our internal measurements show sub-100 ms average response times when hosted in France—ideal for real-time chat interactions.

GDPR Compliance & Data Sovereignty
All inference (input processing and output generation) takes place within Microsoft’s certified data centers in France/EU. There are no cross-border transfers of your data unless you explicitly configure them.

Strict “No Training on Customer Data” Policy
Under Azure’s “data isolation” commitment, none of your prompts, documents, or chat logs are used to further train or fine-tune the underlying models. Your data is processed in-memory and then discarded according to our retention rules.

In short: we’ve tested multiple providers across performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory criteria—and Azure OpenAI EU/FR came out on top. You can use it with full confidence that your data stays in France, is handled under GDPR standards, and will never be repurposed for model training.
